Dear friend(s),
We want to thank you for taking the time to read our letter and learn more about us. It’s our hope that this letter gives you an idea of who we are and allows you to get to know us. We can never fully understand what birthparents go through. This is a hard decision and one that requires so much selflessness and we feel so incredibly grateful that there are people who are willing to help us create a family. We hope that you will be blessed with the strength you need as you make this difficult decision for you and your child. We are thankful for you and look forward to hopefully meeting you in the future.
We are Austin and Jessica, two best friends that were blessed to be able to marry each other. Both of us grew up in Montana and are excited to raise our family here. We moved to Alaska for several years and just recently moved back to our home state of Montana to be closer to our families. We are excited that our children will be able to have close relationships with our family members. Both of our parents and all of our siblings and their children live here as well. We have 6 nephews and 1 niece that we love dearly. We love the time that we spend with them. Our extended family is so excited about our plans to adopt! Your child would be loved, not only by us, but by our entire extended family.
{How we met}
(In Jessica’s Words) When people ask me how I met Austin and I tell them that we met in high school, their first question is “Oh, so you were high school sweethearts?” But I tell them no and that we were just friends... but to be honest, I secretly had a “crush” on him. I was great friends with Austin in high school and enjoyed spending time with him. He always was joking around and I really enjoyed being around him. But it never progressed past friendship while we were in high school. After graduation we both went our separate ways but still kept in contact and would get together when we were both in town. I will always remember the moment that I knew there could be something more between us. He was in town visiting and had just taken me out to lunch. We were walking together and I saw the reflection of us walking side by side in the store window and I thought, “We look like we belong together.” Over the next few months I realized that the perfect man for me had been in my life all along and I just hadn’t realized it. From that moment on he went from being just a friend to my best friend and soul mate. We were married in March 2009. I couldn’t ask for a better person to share the rest of my life with.
(In Austin’s Words) All through high school I always liked Jessica. I secretly had a crush on her and never acted on it. We were close friends and that bond carried on into our relationship. After high school I joined the Air Force and on one of my visits home, I took Jessica out to lunch. During that trip home, I mentioned that she should come and visit me sometime in Alaska, where I was stationed. I never thought in my wildest dreams that she would. But some things are just meant to be, and she did! From there the rest is history. Jessica eventually moved up to Alaska and we got married. I can truly say I married my best friend and I am lucky to be able to spend the rest of my life with her!
{About Us}
{Jessica talking about Austin}
Austin is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. He is not only my best friend but the love of my life. Austin is the 3rd of four children. His parents and three sisters live close by and he has always had a close relationship with them. He also has aunts and uncles and a grandma that live just a few miles away. Growing up, he spent a lot of time working on his grandparents farm and has lots of great memories of that time. His parents are hard workers and instilled that quality in him. His mom has worked as a nurse for over 20 years. And his dad has had his own trucking business for over 20 years as well. They love their grandchildren and are looking forward to a new addition that they can love and cherish.
Austin has a great way of making others feel loved. He is very giving in his service to others and will do everything that he can to help someone. Austin loves to have fun! He loves to joke around and make others laugh. People love to be around him because he is so easy to talk to and makes others feel comfortable. One of the things I love most about him is his smile (it’s contagious!) and his positive attitude. He always has the ability to make me laugh, even during the difficult times in life.
Austin loves the outdoors! He loves to fish, hunt, camp and hike. Growing up, he enjoyed being outside as much as possible and still does. Even greater than his love for the outdoors is his love for his family. Between his three sisters we have 5 nephews and they all adore their uncle Austin. They love spending time with him. Their faces light up whenever he comes over and they want to spend every moment with him.
Austin is going to be a fantastic father! He is always putting others needs before his own and will do so with his future children. As I watch him play and interact with his nephews and niece, I know that he loves them unconditionally and cares for them as if they were his own. I am so excited to watch him become the loving father I know that he will be.
{Austin talking about Jessica}
Jessica is an amazing woman! I love her so much! She is very independent and I can’t wait until the day that she becomes a mother. Jessica is the oldest of 3 children. She loves her family very much and is very dedicated to them. Her grandparents and uncle live a mile away from us and she has been gardening with her grandfather and loves to spend time with them and play games. Her parents live about 15 minutes away and are a big part of her life. They own and operate an auto repair business. Her dad manages and maintains the business, while her mother does the accounting and book work. They love being grandparents and are excitedly awaiting an addition to our family. Jessica’s sister lives only 5 minutes away and has two beautiful children, who Jessica adores. They are a highlight in her life. Jessica’s brother recently relocated to Utah. She still keeps in contact with him and they have a close relationship as well.
Jessica is very free spirited and loves to be spontaneous. She loves to craft, play with our dogs, enjoy the outdoors, listen to music, and go on drives. She is very talented with making greeting cards. She especially loves spending time with her niece and nephews. They bring such joy to her life. She will be an amazing mother. She is very caring and dedicated and has an unbelievable strength and a will power that amazes me. She is so loving and compassionate and would love your child with her whole heart.
We hope that this letter has helped you learn more about us and understand our deep desire to start our family. Words cannot express our gratitude and thankfulness for you. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Austin & Jessica McPherson
